🎤 Behind the Art: Meet Michael from Vaso Azzurro

Some collaborations feel inevitable. Francois — our founder — has been a regular at Vaso Azzurro in Mountain View, California for years, trading stories with Michael between plates of Northern Italian comfort. When restaurant.art opened, Michael was among the first to jump in. Here’s his take on family, hospitality, and why Dolce Vita fits their spirit.

Q: For readers who haven’t visited — what is Vaso Azzurro?

Michael: A family-run spot for authentic Northern Italian and Provence-inspired dishes. “Vaso Azzurro” means “blue vase.” My dad Allan leads, and my siblings Alex, Minoo, and Nikoo — plus my nephew Amir — all pitch in. Decades in hospitality shape everything we do.

Q:What’s your philosophy of hospitality?

Michael: Food, service, ambiance—essential. But long-term success is relationships: guests should feel known; that “welcome back” energy is our north star. And at Vaso Azzurro, we’re known for the singing—think Sinatra smooth with a touch of Elvis swagger—live serenades that turn dinner into a memory.

Q: Why did you want to be an early restaurant.art customer?

Michael: We’d already worked with Francois on another creative project, so I knew the results would be original and top-tier. It was also a chance to reinvent our already art-focused interior; the new pieces refresh the mood.

Q: Favorite designs that restaurant.art came up with?

Michael: I love them all, but Dolce Vita is my favorite. It captures that Italian-American cinema vibe of the ’50s and ’60s we’re fond of at Vaso Azzurro.

Thank you, Michael — and the entire Sadri family — for letting us translate Vaso Azzurro’s warmth into images. If you’re in Mountain View, go say hello. You’ll understand why regulars keep coming back.

🎤 Behind the Art: Meet Jasmine

At restaurant.art, every image — from dreamy bistro scenes to vibrant noodle shops — is crafted with care and intention. We sat down with Jasmine, the creative brain behind the styles and prompts that define our art.

Q: Hi Jasmine! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Jasmine: Hi! I’m Jasmine. I’m 28, I live in San Francisco, and I’m originally from San Jose. I studied illustration and digital media. I’ve always been obsessed with visual storytelling — especially when it comes to atmosphere and design.

Q: What exactly do you do at restaurant.art?

Jasmine: I lead the Art & Style side — creating and refining prompts, fine-tuning models, checking image quality, and touch-ups. I also help customers.

Q: What’s your best memory at restaurant.art?

Jasmine: A customer once told me, “You made me see my restaurant in so many new ways. I love them all!” Later, I had the chance to visit, meet the manager in person, and enjoy an incredible dinner. It was such a full-circle moment — I’ll never forget it.

Q: What’s your artistic style like outside of work?

Jasmine: I still sketch with pen and ink when I travel. Lately, I’ve been mixing that with AI tools — layering my linework into generative textures. It’s a mix of old-school and futuristic, kind of like me. 😊

Q: What’s one thing people don’t realize about generative art?

Jasmine: That it’s not push-button magic. Behind every image are hours of prompt tuning, testing, and refinement — there’s a lot of human taste in the loop. And when it comes to high-quality prints — especially at large formats — there are real challenges with resolution, sharpness, and color. These are things we’ve worked hard to solve beautifully.

Q: How do resolution and file quality differ between images for Instagram and for prints?

Jasmine: Instagram files start at “original” quality so fine detail is missing. To make them print-ready, we upsample intelligently. In the detail crops below, the left shows the soft, compressed source; the right shows the upsampled version with cleaner edges and better micro-detail.

Whole scene prepared for Instagram: smaller file with heavier compression

Whole scene prepared for print: larger file, gentler compression and print-safe sharpening

Q: Last question: What would you tell a restaurant owner who’s never tried this kind of art before?

Jasmine: Your space is more than four walls — it’s an experience. We help you show that to the world. Whether you want to post it on Instagram or frame it for your wall, we’ve got you. ❤️
